This weekend marks the first full club tournament! It’s the Music City Block Party in Franklin. Matches will be at either the A-Game facility or the USBA facility (both are within a few blocks of each other). I’m still waiting on the final schedules and pools for the weekend and will post them as soon as I receive them. Admission is $5 (players and coaches are free of course!). Pool play begins on Saturday and brackets start on Sunday. All teams will play on both days! Most likely all of our teams will be at the A-game facility, but I’m posting directions to both below. Again, times will be posted as soon as they are available.
POOL PLAY INFORMATION (Saturday)
14’s (14-1, 14-2, 14-3) are in the morning wave. Play begins at 8am. This group will play at the USBA facility (directions below). Players should be there no later than 7:15 (your coach will tell you for sure).
15’s & 16’s (15-1, 16-1, 16-2) are in the afternoon wave. Play begins at 3pm. These groups will play at the A-Game facility (directions below) Players should be there no later than 2:15pm (your coach will tell you for sure).

What a great Club Competition Day! It was incredible to see all of the players in one gym last Saturday, it really gives you a sign of the growth of Volleyball here in Wilson County. Thanks to all of the parents for taking care of food for your teams and to all of the coaches for setting up and making the day great. The teams are all looking good and I can’t wait to see each of you in action next weekend (Feb 4-5) in Franklin for the Music City Block Party! I’ll post start times for all of the teams here as soon as I get them (most likely Wednesday of next week).

I’ve received many requests from players and parents who didn’t get registered by the early deadline to order more of the black 2012 Airborne T-Shirts. Well, your wish has been granted! This will be our last run EVER of this popular shirt. This is the Long Sleeve black T-Shirt with the Airborne logo on the front and “If it were easy they’d call it football” printed on the back. Just a reminder that tonight (Wed, Jan 4) is our only scorekeeper clinic. In SRVA club play, each team is responsible for working several matches as the “officiating team”. This means that along with serving as Line Judges, the players must also serve as the scorekeeper, assistant scorekeeper and R2 (or down ref). Additional, players may only work these positions if they have completed the certification process set up by USA Volleyball and the SRVA. This is what we will be doing tonight. Parents are welcome to attend and learn, but it’s the responsibility of the players to be certified to work during the tournaments.
We will start promptly at 6pm and finish by 8pm. See you there!

Allplayers.com is the way we accept online payments. Be sure your account is up to date there. Just log in with the account information you created when you registered for tryouts. You can pay bills and visit your team pages there. Be sure your email addresses are up to date here, and you probably want them to be your email and not your players so you’ll get the updates. YOu can also have the updates sent to you via text!

Practices are about to get rolling and it won’t be long before our first tournament is here! Let’s fill the stands at our tournaments this year with the Airborne colors and logo. They are great for both parents and players. Orders will be taken for the next 2 weeks. It’s time. Airborne’s 2nd season is here. This year we’ve grown to 6 teams, all filled with amazing girls and incredible coaches. And we’ve extended our reach outside of Lebanon this year. We have players from Portland, Cookeville, Murfreesboro, Nashville, and Hartsville! We have players from the great programs at Friendship Christian, Lebanon High, Wilson Central, Carroll Oakland, Southside, Trousdale County, Winfree Bryant, Walter J Baird, Tuckers Crossroads, Mt Juliet Christian Academy, McGavock HS, Portland HS, Blackman HS, Davidson Academy, Cookeville HS, Upperman HS, Stewarts Creek Middle, and Holy Rosary Academy. (If I left someone out, I’m sorry!)
It’s gonna be a great season. Airborne 2.0! Fly High!
Reminder…Call backs are tomorrow (Sunday) at Wilson Central. Be there between 12:30 & 12:45. We will be done by 3pm. This if for the 14 and under crowd only!
All 15u players and older should have heard from your coach by now. Practices will start in the next 2 weeks and a schedule will be available next week.
And don’t forget our first fundraiser, Breakfast with Santa on Nov 19. We’ll be working the event and selling tickets. We need ALL Airborne players from ALL teams there on the 19th! We will be done by 10am!
Also, mark your calendar for Dec 4 as Airborne will have a float in the Lebanon Christmas Parade! More details will be coming soon. Don’t miss out!!
Thanks to all of you who came out to tryouts this season. We had a great day on Saturday and I’m excited by the level of play I saw in all of our athletes. You should hear from either your coach or myself this week. We do have call backs in one division so that we can work out the teams. You should have received an email if you were included in this. Otherwise, expect to hear from someone by the end of the week!
And don’t forget, log back into the allplayers.com system and double check your sizes and preferred numbers. We start ordering equipment and jerseys very soon!
